Potting Bench Notes

Welcome to the Potting Bench where you will find notes on the latest happenings at our Community Garden.

We recently celebrated our 1st year of productive gardening after 3 hard years of paper work.

Over the year we have accomplished the following.

1. After struggling for half a year bringing our own water we now have nearly 10,000 litres onsite, plumbed to enable members to dip their watering cans in to a float controlled sink.

2. We experimented in our communal garden beds with many plants to discover the most popular and successful for our needs.

3. Our new Green House is now fully functioning for seedling propagation and in the near future sales will commence. Watch for our colourful “Plants for Sale” sign near our entrance.

4. A citrus orchard was established and stone fruit trees have just been added. Meanwhile a Bush Tucker Garden was commenced and we will be including Australian Natives in it.

5. Our new archway has been erected and makes a wonderful entrance.

6. Following on from our Chuffed Funding campaign last year and a successful grant application this month our Pavilion will be erected this year.

With many new future innovations and plans to implement we look forward to welcoming more members and you can find us at the Toormina Centro Market Day on the last Friday of the month or come down to the garden on any Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday Morning.
